Millie Bobby Brown and other co-stars have expressed their grief over the tragic loss of US actress Kaylee Hottle, who passed away in a car accident at age 18.
Hottle died in a single-vehicle collision in Frederick, Maryland, early Tuesday morning. The actress, who was deaf, is best known for her role as a young orphan named Jia in the Godzilla movie series, including the 2024 sequel Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.
Millie Bobby Brown shared a black-and-white photograph of Hottle on her Instagram story, captioning it with heartfelt words: “I’m so devastated to hear this. You will be deeply missed, Kaylee.” The Stranger Things star’s tribute highlighted Hottle’s talent and kindness.
Rebecca Hall, who co-starred with Hottle in both Godzilla films, also paid her respects by sharing on-set photos of the two. Hall stated, “My heart goes out to your family. You will be missed, Kaylee.”
Mexican actress Eiza González, another co-star, posted a photo of herself and Hottle in costume, expressing her sorrow. She wrote, “I’m devastated. I adore you. I know heaven has the sweetest, kindest girl. We will miss you terribly.”
Legendary Pictures, the production company behind the Godzilla films, acknowledged Hottle as a “cherished member” of the team. The statement noted, “Through her unforgettable portrayal of Jia, Kaylee brought extraordinary heart, humanity, and light to Godzilla, Kong, and the Monsterverse. Her kindness, warmth, and remarkable talent touched everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her.”
