ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Rookie Cooper Pratt drove in two runs, and Jacob Misiorowski hurled 5 ⅔ scoreless innings to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to their first World Series championship, defeating the Tampa Bay Rays 4–1 on Wednesday.

Milwaukee advanced to the title bout by eliminating the Rays in five games and posted an impressive 11‑win record across the postseason.

Cooper Pratt continued his historic surge, delivering an RBI single in the second inning and a hit in the fifth after a four‑hit showing in Game 4. His six consecutive postseason hits broke the World Series rookie record previously held by the Yankees’ Brian Doyle (1978).

Cooper Pratt’s streak of back‑to‑back hits came to an end with a sacrifice fly in the sixth.

William Contreras clubbed an RBI double, and David Hamilton drove in a run with a single, marking his fourth consecutive game with an RBI.

The offensive output proved decisive for Jacob Misiorowski (2‑0), who earned his second Series win. The right‑hander allowed just two hits and a walk, striking out two before leaving in the sixth with a right‑calf cramp.

Relief pitchers set the stage for Trevor Megill, who recorded the final two outs. Megill surrendered an RBI double to Chandler Simpson with two outs in the ninth but got Richie Palacios to ground out to second for the series‑clinching out.

Drew Rasmussen (2‑1) of the Rays, pitching on three days’ rest, encountered early trouble in the second inning.

Brice Turang launched a one‑out double and later scored after Cooper Pratt sent a first‑pitch cutter from Rasmussen into the center‑field gap.

The Rays mounted a rally in the fourth when speedy Chandler Simpson capitalized on a fielding error by right fielder Sal Frelick, advancing to second on a single. With runners on second and third, Misiorowski forced a groundout from Ben Williamson to end the threat.

Cooper Pratt extended his hitting streak to six consecutive hits over a two‑game span, delivering a one‑out single against Kevin Kelly in the fifth. Garrett Mitchell and David Hamilton each added singles, with Hamilton’s dribbler to right field driving Pratt home and giving Milwaukee a 2–0 advantage.

Milwaukee expanded its lead in the sixth inning as William Contreras’ towering double over the left‑field wall brought Christian Yelich home from first. Three batters later, Cooper Pratt hit a deep foul fly that allowed Contreras to tag up and score from third, padding the Brewers’ advantage.

Rasmussen was solid for Tampa Bay, permitting just one run on two hits over four innings while striking out four and walking none.

This victory marked Milwaukee’s second appearance in the World Series, following a heartbreaking loss to the St. Louis Cardinals in 1982. Meanwhile, the Rays continue to pursue their first championship, having previously fallen short in 2008 and 2020.
