BBC correspondent Will Grant visited Monterrey, Nuevo León, to examine the city’s security plans ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Mexico will host 13 matches, with Monterrey slated to stage four of them.
The local police force will deploy 11 helicopters, including two Black Hawk units, and 90 armored vehicles for the tournament. Armed robotic dogs will also patrol the streets, while a central command centre monitors activity throughout Nuevo León.
