Schwartz’s Deli, one of Montreal’s most renowned establishments, has discontinued serving the iconic American-made black cherry soda that graced its tables for decades.
The legendary sandwich shop had faced ongoing challenges sourcing the specialty cola over the past eight years as production scaled back due to escalating aluminum costs.
However, the complete disappearance of the product took staff and patrons alike by surprise. The deli has now transitioned to a locally-produced alternative, which has been well-received by its loyal customer base.
