Moose responded to fans who had criticized TNA’s ticket sales for Bound for Glory in Tampa and later questioned why the distribution numbers increased so sharply.
According to WrestleTix, 2,203 tickets had been distributed for the Oct. 11 show at the Yuengling Center as of Thursday. That rise came after a period of slower movement. As of Sept. 27, with two weeks remaining before the event, WrestleTix had tracked 756 distributed tickets.
WrestleTix measures distributed tickets by counting seats that are no longer available on the venue’s seating map, meaning its figures can include both paid sales and complimentary tickets. It remains unclear how many of the 2,203 distributed tickets, if any, are complimentary. The recent increase prompted some fans to claim that TNA was giving away free tickets to fill the venue.
Former TNA World Champion Moose posted on X:
“It’s hilarious when TNA only has 700 tiks sold with only 1 match announced and no marketing done, we’re awful. But as soon as we start doing heavy marketing media tours and make match announcements and sell 2000+ tickets and add more seats. We are handing out free tickets,” Moose wrote.
Seven matches have now been announced for Bound for Glory:
- Nic Nemeth (c) vs. Leon Slater for the TNA World Championship. Slater regained the X Division Championship from Cedric Alexander in a Last Man Standing steel cage match at Lockdown on Aug. 23, then invoked Option C that same night, surrendering the title for a chance at the world championship.
- Xia Brookside (c) vs. Indi Hartwell for the TNA Knockouts World Championship.
- Mustafa Ali (c) vs. Jason Hotch vs. John Skyler vs. Special Agent 0 in a four-way match for the TNA International Championship.
- Fabian Aichner vs. KC Navarro vs. Cedric Alexander vs. Rich Swann vs. Ryan Nemeth vs. BDE in a six-way scramble for the vacant TNA X Division Championship.
- The Hardys, Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy, vs. Syx, Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw, in a Falls Count Anywhere match.
- Ricky Sosa vs. Eddie Edwards.
- The Call Your Shot Gauntlet, with Bear Bronson, Frankie Kazarian and Avery Styles among the confirmed entrants. The match will be Styles’ in-ring debut in TNA.
TNA also announced Thursday that Mickie James will appear at the event. James was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame at last year’s Bound for Glory. This year’s inductees are ODB, whose induction was announced at Rebellion in April, and Amazing Red and Konnan, both announced at Slammiversary in June.
The 22nd edition of Bound for Glory will air live on pay-per-view and TNA+ on Sunday, Oct. 11, at 4 p.m. ET from the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Fla.
