The United States will celebrate its 250th anniversary this summer with a nationwide concert series, but Morris Day & The Time have opted out of the lineup. The Minneapolis funk group confirmed their withdrawal from the “Great American State Fair” via Instagram on Tuesday.

In a post featuring an image with bold text announcing their absence, Day, 68, wrote “It’s A No For Me” in the caption, accompanied by sunglasses emoji. The announcement clarifies that contrary to rumors, the group will not perform at the event scheduled for Washington, D.C.’s National Mall from June 25 to July 10.

The concert series lineup includes other ’90s acts such as Milli Vanilli, C+C Music Factory, Young MC, Bret Michaels, Flo Rida, Martina McBride, and the Commodores, among others.
