After a two-week break, the paddock returns to action August 28-30, with all three classes set to take on the fast and technical 3.15-mile (5.077-kilometer) circuit in Alcañiz, Spain. With the championship entering the final stretch of the season, every point will be crucial as the title battles continue to take shape. Aprilia Racing is ready for the challenge on the MotorLand Aragón Circuit after the Silverstone GP, where both of the Aprilia factory riders finished in the top spots. Jorge Martín is returning to Aragón after a weekend as protagonist at Silverstone where he took pole position, victory in the sprint race, and second place in the long race. The Spanish rider will be arriving at his home race as leader in the riders standings with 240 points, and he will be striving to remain consistent with his good results. Marco Bezzecchi’s Silverstone weekend was also decidedly positive. Despite having to reckon with the pain from his injuries suffered on the Sachsenring, he ended the weekend with two third-place finishes. The Italian rider will tackle the weekend in Aragón with the goal of assessing his physical condition and continuing to battle in the top positions. MotorLand Aragón is a modern circuit located in Alcañiz, Spain, a place with a rich motorcycle racing history, having hosted street races from 1963 to 2003. The track, 5.08km long, comprises 17 corners, 10 of which are left-handers and 7 right-handers. It is a demanding and highly technical track with gradients, fast corners, and intense braking sections.
Jorge Martín: “We are arriving at one of our home GP races in great shape. I’m pleased with the work we are doing with the team. We worked extremely well at Silverstone, and I hope to continue on the same path. I am really looking forward to racing in front of the Spanish fans and returning to Aragón after missing this race last year. It will be great to ride my Aprilia at MotorLand for the first time. I like the track and we’ll be focused on doing the best job we can straight away from Friday in order to find a good feeling on Saturday and Sunday.”
Marco Bezzecchi: “I can’t wait to get to Aragón. It will definitely be a demanding weekend because, after Silverstone, I had a slight setback caused by the efforts of the weekend. Anyway, we expected that, so we are trying to take full advantage of the time we have available to get everything sorted. In any case, I’m extremely happy to be headed to Aragón: it’s a track that I like a lot, and I can’t wait to get on the bike.”

But he remains confident that another step in qualifying will promote him even further into the points-paying positions. In 2022, Marini set the fastest lap of the race in Aragon on his way to seventh—his best premier class finish at the track to date. Author to a solid seventh place finish on Sunday in 2025, Joan Mir ranks Motorland Aragon amongst his favourite tracks on the calendar. Achieving a trio of premier class podiums there across the 2020 and 2021 seasons, his results certainly support his positives feelings. With mixed results so far in 2026, the #36 is taking each weekend as it comes and Aragon presents a great opportunity to repeat his Czechia heroics on home soil. From this Grand Prix onwards, there will never be more than a week between races as the 2026 MotoGP World Championship season shifts up a gear and sprints to the end in Valencia.
Luca Marini: “I am pleased with the consistency we have been able to show each weekend, with the work the team has done to keep improving until we go to the starting grid on Sunday. Our consistency has been very good and we need to work to find a bit more pace earlier in the weekend to make our life on Saturday and Sunday afternoon a bit easier. When you look at our speed, we have the potential to be up closer to the front guys, but we are having to fight too much at the start. I missed Aragon last year with injury, so I am expecting a lot of improvement since 2024.”
Joan Mir: “It was almost like we had another summer break after Silverstone, so I am looking forward to riding again. Aragon is a circuit that I really enjoy and one that I have been able to be quite strong at in the past. Last year we had one of our better results there and I think we can be closer than in the last race. As is the plan, we are taking it race by race and looking to achieve our maximum from each weekend to finish the season in the best way possible and give some more reward to the team for all their hard work.”
The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team have travelled to Aragon, Spain, to resume the 2026 MotoGP World Championship. After a two-week break, Fabio Quartararo and Álex Rins are eager to resume work at the MotorLand Aragón. The Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team is looking forward to restarting the racing action this weekend at the MotorLand Aragón. As he arrives in Alcañiz, Fabio Quartararo holds 14th place in the championship standings (despite a 16-second post-race penalty after the British GP Race, received due to an issue with the tyre pressure sensor). He is anticipating a challenging weekend in Aragon but is determined give it everything he has. El Diablo’s best premier-class result here up till now is his top-5 finish in 2019. Álex Rins holds 20th place in the overall classification at the moment and is highly motivated to do well at what he sees as a home GP. He previously achieved great success at the Aragon track, having secured a victory in Moto3 in 2013, a second place in Moto2 in 2015, and a back-to-back victory and second place in MotoGP in 2020 at the Aragon and Teruel GPs. The MotorLand Aragón circuit was added to the MotoGP calendar in 2010. After briefly missing from the line-up in 2023, it made its return the next year. The track is situated near the town of Alcañiz, a few hours’ drive from Barcelona. The fast 5.08 km long track has ten left and seven right corners, and a 968 m longest straight.
Massimo Meregalli – Team Director: “After a two-week break, everyone is eager to get back to work. The British GP was a challenging weekend for us, but now our focus is on applying those learnings in Aragon. MotorLand Aragón is a demanding circuit that traditionally doesn’t play to our strengths, but it is also a good place to evaluate the progress we have been making throughout this year and to examine our next targets. We know there is still work to do, and we approach this weekend with a realistic mindset and determination to get the best results possible.”
Fabio Quartararo: “The break after Silverstone gave us some time to reset and prepare for the next step of the championship. Aragon has never been one of my easiest tracks, so we expect a tough weekend, but I will do my maximum as always. The goal is to keep working hard, make the most of every session, and see what we can achieve.”
Alex Rins: “I’m happy to be racing again, especially at MotorLand Aragón. It’s a circuit that I know very well and one that has given me some great memories throughout my career. The British GP ended very early for me after the first-lap incident, so I am motivated to put that behind me and get back on track. Aragon is often like a second home Grand Prix for me – part of my family lives close to the circuit so it’s always special to race here for me. We know it won’t be an easy weekend, but we have some areas that we want to work on, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do.”
Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP returns to action at MotorLand Aragón for the opening round of the final ten-race stretch of the 2026 season, with the team continuing its development work and looking to build on the progress made before the summer break. Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP returns to the track at MotorLand Aragón this weekend, marking the beginning of the final phase of the 2026 MotoGP World Championship. With ten Grands Prix still to come before the season finale in Valencia, including five flyaway events, the team faces a demanding run of races in which physical and mental preparation will be just as important as the work carried out on track. The Aragón circuit, with its 5.077-kilometre layout, 17 corners, significant elevation changes and combination of fast and technical sections, will provide another useful test for the development of the YZR-M1. After a further two weeks away from competition, Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP returns with continued development work carried out at the factory and within the team, with the objective of finding an increasingly effective balance for both riders. The project has made significant progress in both the chassis and electronics areas throughout the season, while further upgrades are expected in the coming races. Aragón therefore represents another opportunity to evaluate the direction of the bike and continue working towards closing the gap to the front. Jack Miller returns to a circuit where he already has strong MotoGP references, having finished fifth here in 2022 after qualifying on the front row. The Australian will be able to draw on that experience as he continues to provide valuable technical feedback and work towards further improving the Yamaha’s performance. Toprak Razgatlıoğlu also arrives with considerable knowledge of MotorLand, having raced and won here in WorldSBK and completed MotoGP testing at the circuit. However, that familiarity can also present its own challenge as he continues to adapt his riding style to the YZR-M1, with the different characteristics of MotoGP requiring him to reassess some of the references he built on a Superbike. With the final ten Grands Prix of the season now ahead, the Aragón weekend will be the first step in a particularly demanding closing stretch, which will take the championship from Spain through Misano and Austria before five flyaway rounds in Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Malaysia and Qatar, and finally back to Europe for Portugal and Valencia. The team will approach this phase race by race, continuing to develop the project while looking to demonstrate the progress made throughout the season.
Gino Borsoi – Team Director: “We arrive in Aragón after another two-week break, during which Yamaha and our technical staff have worked hard to find a more effective balance for both riders. We know that Aragón is a circuit where the characteristics of our bike could work well, and we have seen significant progress in both the chassis and electronics areas throughout the season. We are also waiting for some important upgrades that will arrive soon, while for this weekend our focus will be on continuing to improve the set-up of the bike and making the most of what we have available. It won’t be an easy weekend, but we remain focused on the work and on finding further improvements. I’m quite positive about this final part of the season. I believe that, from now on, we can start showing more of the speed that both our riders have and continue to make steps forward as a project.”
Jack Miller: “I’m looking forward to getting back to Aragón after another little break. It’ll be good to see what the upgrades bring and whether we can find another little step with the bike. Aragón is a track I really like and I’ve had some good results here in the past, so hopefully we can make the most of that. There’s obviously the long straight, but apart from that it’s a pretty flowing track with a good mix of corners. It’s a circuit I enjoy riding, so fingers crossed we can get the bike working well and pull out a decent result this weekend.”
Toprak Razgatlioglu: “I like this track and I have good memories here, especially after winning with the Superbike last time. But with the MotoGP bike it will be another difficult weekend, so we will see what we can do. I’m already fully focused on the race and I’ve been training every day during the break to be ready. As always, I’ll give my best and try to keep improving. I hope we can find something that helps me take another step with the bike and put together a special result this weekend.”
The Ducati Lenovo Team is heading to MotorLand Aragón for the 13th round of the 2026 season. A breathtaking track, the stage for great duels in the recent past, where the Desmosedici GP claims victory 5 times: from the first success in 2010 with Casey Stoner, to the historic 2021 race that marked the first MotoGP victory for Pecco Bagnaia—and the 250th for an Italian rider in the premier class—passing through Enea Bastianini’s success in 2022, up to the dominance shown in 2024 and 2025 by Marc Márquez with the Red bike from Borgo Panigale. After a complicated weekend at Silverstone, the Team is ready to get back to work on a track that on paper suits the bike’s characteristics much better. Marc Márquez and Pecco Bagnaia took advantage of these two additional weeks of break to focus on recovery and training, ready to rediscover their feeling and close the gap on the lead group.
Marc Márquez (#93, Ducati Lenovo Team): “In Aragón I have gathered a lot of success in the past, especially in recent years aboard the Ducati. It’s a track that enhances my characteristics and the riding of our bike to the fullest. Compared to Silverstone and with two additional weeks of recovery, I am convinced that we will be much closer to the lead group and that we can be in the fight for the positions that matter, both in the Sprint and in Sunday’s race.”
Francesco Bagnaia (#63, Ducati Lenovo Team): “Aragón is a track to which I am particularly attached: here I achieved my first victory in MotoGP, my very first with Ducati. Compared to Silverstone, it is a less physically demanding circuit. I expect to be closer to the leaders right from the start and getting back into the slipstream of the fastest riders.”
The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back in action this weekend for the Aragon GP after a two-week break. MotoGP has now entered the second half of the season, and this weekend the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team is back on track after a two-week break for the thirteenth round of the calendar. The Aragon GP awaits Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli for a new challenge, as they face their third round of the year in Spain with the aim of building on the positive feelings from the previous races. Di Giannantonio arrives at MotorLand Aragon in fifth place in the World Standing with 199 points, just 10 points behind second place and 41 behind the leader. Fabio is determined to continue the positive momentum he has built this year and perform well at a track that has already brought him success in the past. It was precisely at the Aragon that he claimed a second-place finish in 2017 (Moto3), while last year the track marked a major turning point in his season. The Aragon GP will also be an important one for Morbidelli, who has rediscovered positive feelings and greater confidence in recent races. Franco is sixteenth in the World Standing with 53 points, and he look forward to getting back on track and confirm the progress he has made. MotorLand Aragon is also a circuit where the Italian-Brazilian rider has already enjoyed significant success, including his MotoGP victory in 2020, as well as another win in 2017 and a third-place finish in 2016 (both in Moto2). He also came very close to the podium last year, a result that further raises expectations ahead of the weekend. The Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team will hit the track on Friday for free practice, while qualifying will take place on Saturday at 10:50 (local time). The Sprint will start at 15:00 (local time) on Saturday, while the Aragon GP will conclude on Sunday with the race, starting at 14:00 (local time).
Fabio Di Giannantonio: “During these two weeks off, we worked on our fitness, and I also trained a lot on the bike to maintain this level of preparation. We’re ready for this new weekend! Aragon is quite a different track from Silverstone because it has a slower section. The grip is also very different. Last year, we struggled a little here during the weekend, but on the test day we managed to find something that helped turn our season around. So this year we’ll have additional data that can help us be even more competitive.”
Franco Morbidelli: “I like the Aragon track and I’m very happy to race there. The circuit is very distinctive, with a unique atmosphere and characteristics: the asphalt can be a bit tricky and there isn’t much grip, so it will be difficult to manage. But we’re confident that we can perform well because I’ve achieved some great results here in the past, including a victory. The tyres will be the same as those we used at the previous weekend in Silverstone, which is encouraging. I can’t wait to get to Aragon!”
The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team is aiming to be competitive once again at the thirteenth round of the season. The riders of the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team have enjoyed a short break before competing in another race on Spanish soil. The MotorLand Aragón circuit awaits Dani Holgado and David Alonso, who are keen to fight for the podium once again following a British Grand Prix that saw very mixed results for Jorge Martínez “Aspar”’s team. The Spaniard battered for victory right to the end in one of the most epic Moto2 races in recent memory, but missed out on the podium, finishing fourth following an incident with the category leader on the final lap. Holgado remained in good spirits despite not taking home a trophy, and this weekend he aims to continue fine-tuning the details to maintain the same level of performance. The Aragon circuit holds fond memories for the Spaniard, as it was there that he secured his first World Championship podium in 2021, when he finished third. His team-mate David Alonso heads into this round with a clearer focus following the British round, where he had to constantly struggle to find a good riding feel and finished outside the points. The Aragón circuit is one of the few where a podium finish has so far eluded him, although he came close in 2024, when he finished fourth. The Colombian will return to work determined to turn the situation around and aim to be as competitive as possible right from the first session. Manu González continues to lead the Moto2 overall standings. Following his mistake at Silverstone, where he could only score two points (he now has a total of 197.5 points), his lead over second-placed Izan Guevara has been reduced to 42.5 points. Senna Agius occupies third place and is 19 points behind Guevara. In fourth place, just two and a half points behind, is Iván Ortolá. As for the riders from the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team, Holgado is fifth with 128 points and Alonso is sixth with 116 points.
Dani Holgado: “I’m really looking forward to getting to Aragón. It’s another home Grand Prix for us and that gives us extra motivation. The last race at Silverstone went very well for us and I’m very pleased with the work we’ve done. I want more: we’re in a great place right now because I can see that the work we’re putting in is paying off, and that’s very satisfying for everyone. Our enthusiasm remains undiminished and we’re going to keep building on this to try and have a great weekend.”
David Alonso: “We’re arriving in Aragón well prepared to push hard right from the first lap. The weekend at Silverstone was a tough one for us, but we’ve learnt our lesson from situations like that. The aim will be to have a good base and work on that set-up so we don’t complicate things more than necessary and can be competitive again.”
Máximo Quiles returns in action after his collarbone injury. The Aragon Grand Prix awaits the Moto3 leader, who is keen to get back in the fight for victory after missing the Silverstone race. The CFMOTO Viel Aspar Team is back after a two-week break, with Máximo Quiles rejoining the line-up. The rider from Murcia missed the Silverstone race due to an injury to his right collarbone, for which he underwent surgery on the very Sunday of the Grand Prix in Madrid. Quiles has had just over two weeks to recover and this Thursday he will have to undergo the pre-race medical examination so that the doctors can give the go-ahead for his participation in the Aragon race, where he finished second last year. The CFMOTO Viel Aspar Team rider thus saw his run of 28 consecutive races in the points come to an end—a record in the history of the Moto3 category, surpassing David Alonso’s 22 consecutive races with the Aspar Team between 2023 and 2024. His team-mate Marco Morelli had a difficult debut at the Silverstone circuit and came very close to finishing in the points. The Argentine was, alongside Quiles, the only rider in the category to have scored points in every race this season. He now returns to familiar territory, MotorLand Aragón, where he has secured several podium finishes in the European Talent Cup and the JuniorGP. The CFMOTO Viel Aspar Team rider has not lost confidence and has continued to prepare over recent weeks for the final races in Europe before the Asian leg of the season begins. Máximo Quiles continues to lead the Moto3 standings by a comfortable margin despite missing the British round. Álvaro Carpe’s second-place finish in the last race has allowed him to close the gap, although he is still 85 points behind the CFMOTO Viel Aspar Team rider. In third place is David Almansa, 12 points behind Carpe. Brian Uriarte has moved up to fourth place following his crash at Silverstone and now has 127 points, seven behind the rider in third, whilst Marco Morelli rounds off the top five with 115 points.
Máximo Quiles: “See you in Aragón! Following my collarbone surgery, my recovery is going well and this Thursday I have to undergo my final medical check-up to get the all-clear to compete. From there, we’ll take it step by step, without any pressure, to have the best possible weekend given the conditions we find ourselves in.”
Marco Morelli: “Over the past few weeks I’ve been able to switch off, but it’s also given me the chance to see where we can improve this weekend following the problems we had at Silverstone. MotorLand Aragón is a circuit where I’ve already competed in lower categories and achieved good results. Although I haven’t ridden the Moto3 bike there yet, I think it’ll be a good weekend, so we’ll be going out to give it our all from the very first session.”
