A delegation of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement‑Pakistan (MQM‑P) met with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Friday to discuss the 2026‑27 budget and development plans for Sindh.
According to MQM‑P leader Aminul Haque and the Prime Minister’s Office, the party raised a request for a special development package for Sindh’s urban centres. Haque stated that MQM‑P seeks Rs20 billion for Karachi projects and an additional Rs5 billion for Hyderabad in the upcoming budget.
Haque reported that the Prime Minister assured the delegation that sufficient allocations had already been made for both cities. He also promised the release of funds for the Greater Karachi Bulk Water Supply Scheme (K‑IV) project.
“The government is taking all‑out measures to complete the K‑IV project by December 2026,” Haque said.
