A shooting at Virginia State University early Saturday left five individuals injured after an incident involving multiple suspects near the Quad Annexes. Campus and local law enforcement responded just before 1:30am.

Five victims received immediate medical attention at local hospitals. One individual initially with life-threatening injuries remains in critical condition, while the remaining four sustained non-life-threatening injuries, authorities confirmed.

Virginia State University issued a statement identifying the suspects as multiple and urging campus community members to avoid the vicinity during the ongoing investigation.

A significant law enforcement presence, including federal agencies like the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, remained active on campus throughout Saturday.
