Former Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim has been honored with the ICC Player of the Month award following his standout performance in Bangladesh’s successful Test series against Pakistan. England’s Lauren Bell received the women’s accolade after her impactful white-ball campaign against India and New Zealand.
Rahim’s Test Series Impact
The Bangladesh batter amassed 235 runs at an impressive average of 63.25, securing victories in both Tests. His contributions included a well-anchored 71 in Dhaka and a match-defining 137 in Sylhet, showcasing his critical role in the series win against Pakistan.
“It is a great honor to receive this award again, and I’m especially proud that this recognition stems from my Test performances,” Mushfiqur Rahim stated. “My teammate Taijul Islam also played a pivotal part in our memorable series victory over Pakistan, a moment we will all treasure.”
“This win has bolstered our position in the ICC World Test Championship, and I’m grateful to my team and support staff. I’m eager to build on this momentum for Bangladesh’s future successes.”
Bell’s Women’s Award Triumph
Lauren Bell outshone competitors like Pakistan’s Gull Feroza and New Zealand’s Maddy Green by earning the women’s prize. She claimed five wickets in three ODIs and eight in four T20Is against India and New Zealand, with the award determined by global fan engagement and a specialist panel.
“I’m thrilled to win this award,” Bell remarked. “Playing in front of enthusiastic home crowds is always rewarding. Representing England is a privilege, and I’m proud to contribute to our team’s success.”
“The Women’s T20 World Cup underscored the rapid growth of women’s cricket, and the passionate fan support we received was incredible. I hope to keep delivering exciting performances in the weeks ahead.”
