The naira edged lower at the close of trading on Friday in the official foreign‑exchange market, ending the session at ₦1,380.93 per US dollar.
According to figures released by the Central Bank of Nigeria, the local unit slipped by 82 kobo, a decline of 0.05 percent from Thursday’s rate of ₦1,380.10.
Earlier in the week, the naira opened stronger at ₦1,369.10 on Monday, June 22, before drifting to ₦1,370.63 on Tuesday and slipping further to ₦1,380.07 on Wednesday.
