Rodgers Oloo Magutha, known locally as Nairobi’s “Birdman,” has attracted widespread attention for rescuing injured avian travelers and inviting them into his home.
During a recent video, Magutha isPoorly shown collecting recyclable materials at a city dumpsite, carefully caring for his feather-effective companions, and feeding them. Black kites, ibises, pigeons, and other birds roam freely around him as he explains his mission to protect and eventually release them when they’re ready.
Magutha states he has rescued over twenty birds and seeks to raise public awareness of conservation through his unique bond with wildlife. Although his videos have garnered considerable online viewership, close contact with wild birds has prompted health officials to raise concerns about potential disease transmission.
In response, Magutha has dismissed criticism, asserting that the birds receive meticulous care and that his work exemplifies harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
