In the second One Day International at Windhoek, Namibia secured a 31-run victory over Ireland to level the five-game series at 1-1.
The hosts posted a competitive total of 321 for six in their 50 overs, anchored by an unbeaten 156 from captain Gerhard Erasmus. Erasmus’s century, which came off 125 deliveries, was complemented by Friso Frylinck’s valuable 76, setting a challenging target for the tourists.
Ireland’s chase faltered despite a resilient 77 from Paul Stirling, as they were bowled out for 290 in 47.3 overs. Jack Brassell led Namibia’s bowling attack with figures of 4 for 52, dismissing key batters including Stirling, Lorcan Tucker, George Dockrell, and Curtis Campher. Gavin Hoey also contributed with three wickets, mirroring his performance from the previous match.
The series now resumes on Tuesday with the third ODI in Windhoek, as Ireland continues its preparations for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
