Turkey is set to join the Artemis Accords in a ceremony scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EDT on Monday, August 31, at NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., marking its accession as the 71st signatory nation.
NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will host Turkey’s Minister of Industry and Technology, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, alongside officials from the U.S. Department of State, for the signing event.
The ceremony will be held in person only. Journalists wishing to attend must submit an RSVP by 11:00 a.m. EDT on August 31 to hq‑media@mail.nasa.gov. Details on NASA’s media accreditation process are available online.
Established in 2020 under the first Trump administration, the Artemis Accords were created by the United States—led by NASA and the State Department—together with seven founding nations, in response to increasing governmental and commercial interest in lunar exploration.
