NASA will deliver an update on its initiative to land American astronauts on the Moon by 2028, scheduled for 2 p.m. EDT on Friday, October 23, at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Briefing participants include:

  • NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman
  • NASA Associate Administrator Amit Kshatriya
  • Jeremy Parsons, NASA’s Artemis program manager

The briefing will cover NASA’s Artemis III mission, which will send four astronauts to low Earth orbit next year to test critical systems essential for future lunar landings, along with progress updates on the agency’s plan to return American astronauts to the Moon by 2028.

U.S. media wishing to attend in person must apply online by 12 p.m. on Friday, October 16. Those requesting to participate remotely must obtain the dial-in number from the Kennedy newsroom at least one hour before the update begins by emailing ksc-newsroom@mail.nasa.gov. Further details are available via NASA’s media accreditation policy.

Within the context of a new era of innovation and exploration, NASA’s Artemis missions will deliver increasingly challenging expeditions to the lunar South Pole, enabling greater exploration of the Moon than ever before. Beyond scientific discovery and economic benefits, these missions aim to establish a sustained human presence on the lunar surface, laying the groundwork for the agency’s first crewed mission to Mars.
