Authorities report that three people have died and two others were hospitalized after a news helicopter crashed in suburban Los Angeles while the crew was covering a fatal bus accident.
During an emotional live broadcast on NBC4, anchor Colleen Williams confirmed that the station’s helicopter was the one involved in the crash.
“We had lost contact with our crew on the scene, and we have just received confirmation of the incident,” Williams stated.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will spearhead the investigation into the crash.
