KARACHI — On Wednesday, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) conducted a raid on an illegal call centre in Gulistan-i-Jauhar’s Block‑12 and arrested seven individuals.
A spokesperson for the NCCIA stated, “The agency executed an operation targeting an illegal call centre in Block‑12 of Gulistan-i-Jauhar, arresting seven suspects for defrauding individuals via hacking and unauthorized access to their bank accounts and credit‑card information.”
The detained individuals were identified as Raheel Naurus, Leonard Edgar Dean, Joshua Harrison, Leon Samson Dean, Edison Aftab, Hamza Shaikh, and Arnold Dean.
During the search, investigators seized digital equipment comprising five CPUs, one laptop, nine mobile phones, two vehicles, and pertinent documents.
The spokesperson added that cases had been filed under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (Peca) 2016 and the Pakistan Penal Code against the seven accused.
