Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cautioned on Sunday that Iran and its allied militias may attempt to disrupt Tuesday’s national elections, issuing a stark warning to Tehran against any hostile action.
Netanyahu, who has centered his re-election campaign on his security record and leadership during the recent conflict with Iran, stated that intelligence indicates a potential threat to the democratic process.
“We have intelligence signs that our enemies, Iran and its proxies, could challenge us with attacks in order to disrupt the elections,” Netanyahu said in a video statement released by his office.
“Don’t test us. You will suffer disproportionate blows,” he added, emphasizing that the military is fully prepared for both defensive and offensive operations.
