Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cautioned on Sunday that Iran is developing intercontinental ballistic missiles and pursuing nuclear weapons to threaten American cities, asserting in an interview with Fox News that the United States—not Israel—is the Iranian regime’s ultimate target.
Netanyahu argued that Iran’s ambitions extend far beyond Israel, warning the regime intends to target both the U.S. and Europe should it succeed in destroying the Jewish state. He stated that Tehran’s development of long-range missiles and pursuit of a nuclear arsenal are designed to hold American cities hostage.
“This is a regime that chants ‘Death to Israel, Death to America.’ You are the real target,” Netanyahu said. “And I believe we are well on our way to countering this threat, thanks to President Trump’s brilliant leadership—both military and through economic blockade.”
The prime minister explained that the Iranian regime views the U.S. as “the Great Satan” and Israel as the “Little Satan,” before turning his rhetoric toward European nations.
“I hope our European friends are not offended, but you are seen as the ‘Middle-Sized Satan’—mediocre in so many ways,” he remarked.
“Iran would become a nuclear power unlike any the world has ever seen, because they lack a rational calculus of cost and benefit,” he said. “Their fanaticism means you cannot dissuade them or buy them off.”
Netanyahu also characterized the Iranian regime as a “malevolent power” operating through what he termed the “Three Hs”: Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis.
“They are the arms of this toxic octopus—and it is not the Iranian people, who are great people,” he added.
Eliminating the Iranian threat topped the three priorities Netanyahu outlined for his next term if reelected in the October 27 Knesset election, alongside expanding the Abraham Accords and positioning Israel as a global leader in artificial intelligence.
“First, we will achieve the complete elimination of the Iranian threat to Israel, to America, and to the entire world,” Netanyahu declared.
Expanding the Abraham Accords: A Core Objective
“The second objective is to expand the historic Abraham Accords that President Trump and I forged with four Arab nations,” Netanyahu continued.
“Many more nations are waiting in the wings right now because they witnessed our strength and fortitude, and they want to join us. Let us create an axis of peace and moderation against these barbarians who shoot their own people,” he said.
Netanyahu added that he plans to “forge a different future, a different Middle East, and a different world” if reelected.
Artificial Intelligence for the Benefit of Humanity
Netanyahu’s third priority centered on artificial intelligence, an area where he said he aligns with Trump on both the dangers the technology poses and its potential benefits for humanity.
“I intend to seize the future with ‘Neverland AI’—the ‘superintelligence,’ as the president calls it. He is absolutely right: it is dangerous, but its possibilities in health, agriculture, transportation, and education are immense,” he explained.
“You can personalize AI for every child, unlocking their unique potential by giving them access to the best teachers on the planet. We are already doing this in Israel, and we intend to lead the world in that arena as well. These are remarkable advancements,” he added.
Netanyahu also highlighted Israel’s economic performance, describing it as among the strongest in the developed world.
“Incidentally, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Israel’s economy is leading all Western and OECD nations in growth—and that is after three years of war. I aim to accelerate that growth further, delivering a better future for Israel, our neighbors, and our great ally, the United States.”
