Netflix has announced that ‘Formula 1: Drive to Survive’ will return for its ninth season, covering the 2026 Formula 1 campaign.
The series launched on the streaming platform in 2019 and has been credited with significantly expanding F1’s fan base, especially in the United States. It offers unprecedented paddock access and insight into drivers’ personal lives beyond the track.
“We are thrilled to produce Season 9 of this iconic series,” said Box to Box executive producers James Gay‑Rees and Paul Martin. “This year, we will explore the sport’s hidden depths more thoroughly than ever before.”
The 2026 season is expected to focus on Red Bull star Max Verstappen’s future, the ascent of Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli, who currently leads the championship, and the contentious overhaul of the power‑unit regulations for 2026.
