The United States has implemented 50% tariffs on $20 billion worth of Canadian goods following the collapse of trade talks, sharply escalating economic tensions. Trade specialist Steven Okun notes that while these blanket measures are not expected to cripple the Canadian economy, they will substantially impact key sectors and deepen the ongoing dispute.
