Nia Jax did not qualify for the SummerSlam women’s ladder match during Friday Night SmackDown, but will receive another opportunity next week.
During the same episode, Jax confronted Jade Cargill in a qualifying match; however, Charlotte Flair interfered, causing the referee to end the bout via disqualification. Consequently, Cargill advanced to SummerSlam, whereas Jax was eliminated.
Enraged, Jax assaulted Flair, incapacitating her before exiting. Cargill also targeted Flair, delivering a decisive strike that left her down.
Later in the broadcast, Jax and her tag‑team partner Lash Legend confronted Adam Pearce, demanding justice for what they perceived as an unfair decision. In response, Pearce scheduled a match pitting Jax against Charlotte Flair for the upcoming SmackDown episode, with the victor earning a spot at SummerSlam.
Earlier in the program, Pearce revealed that Rhea Ripley would be sidelined for SummerSlam due to a torn meniscus, though a return is anticipated. To fill the void, WWE announced a five‑woman ladder match at SummerSlam to determine an interim Women’s Champion, who is expected to meet Ripley upon her comeback.
Subsequently, Tiffany Stratton and Cargill secured positions in the ladder match through additional qualifying bouts.
