Nic Nemeth offered enthusiastic support for Mike Santana after the latter’s surprising debut on WWE NXT, describing the move as a natural fit that aligns with his career trajectory. Nemeth noted that Santana’s appearance immediately after the main event—where he “crossed the line” by confronting NXT World Champion Tony D’Angelo—created a significant impact.
In the same episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Nemeth remarked that he has been loudly championing Santana’s representation of TNA. He praised the wrestler not only for his in-ring talent but also for his integrity and dedication to his family.
“For the past couple of months, I’ve been singing the praises of Santana for how he carried the TNA banner as a champion, fighting with heart and letting fans connect with his emotions,” Nemeth said. “He’s made major changes for his daughter and family, and it’s inspiring. I go on the mic and say, ‘It’s the right time for him on NXT.’”
Nemeth added that Santana’s arrival on NXT appears to be exactly where it belongs, potentially positioning him to lead the brand.
The article also>{“wall_of_a_nitter”} includes a reflection from Olympic gold medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle about palvel about his early years in 2006. Angle was drafted to WWE’s relaunched ECW brand, a move he perceived as a step backward. He had brief reign wrestling against Rob Van Dam for the ECW World Championship before being released in August of the same year.
In a re‑released episode of WWE Photo Shoot now available on the WWE Vault YouTube channel, Angle discussed his initial reaction to the ECW assignment. He conveyed that he felt “demoted” when informed that the move would involve lower venues and reduced earnings.
“When Vince spoke about reviving ECW, I didn’t understand the plan. I was the pinnacle of in‑ring excellence, and moving to a hardcore‑only brand felt like a demotion,” Angle recounted. “I was bitter and questioned why I would want that.” He noted that, in hindsight, Vince may have aimed to position him as the new face of a brand akin to Tazz, although the intent was unclear at the moment.
