Noah Kahan’s recent Great Divide tour included a memorable stop in Pittsburgh, coinciding with the city’s annual furry convention. The folk artist expressed enthusiasm about the alignment of the two events, welcoming attendees from both gatherings. Before the show, Kahan shared on X that fans could freely participate in both activities, writing, “Pittsburgh: if you are caught between attending the worlds largest furry convention or my show tonight then please know you are welcome to combine the two.” He also engaged playfully with fans online, responding to a query about his fursona with “Squid man.”
At the concert, Kahan encouraged inclusivity, stating, “Furries are welcome. All the animal kingdom is welcome tonight.” He then visited the prop payphone booth during his set, where he received a mock call from the “National Center For Furry Awareness.” The caller provided clarification about the community, prompting Kahan to note, “They don’t necessarily have sex in their suits.” He concluded by inviting the audience to greet any furries in attendance with a “Hell yeah.”
“The National Center For Furry Awareness? Oh, they don’t have sex… not necessarily? Okay, well that’s good to know.”
