Yorkshire built a strong lead at Headingley before Northamptonshire closed in for a tense finish, securing a narrow win to remain atop the T20 Blast table. Alex Lees’ aggressive 73 (35 balls, 6 sixes) powered Durham to 205-9, supported by Ben McKinney’s 42 off 21 deliveries.
Jonny Bairstow initiated Northamptonshire’s charge with 66 from 36 balls, while Moeen Ali’s dynamic 60 (32 balls, 7 sixes) kept them in contention. After Ali’s dismissal, Matthew Revis’s six off Kasey Aldridge’s final over sealed the victory in the last over.
Essex strengthened their position in the South Group, finishing third behind Surrey on net run rate after a dominant 204-6 at Hove. Michael Pepper’s 47 (29 balls) set the tone, and Simon Harmer’s 31-run over destroyed Sussex’s chase, leaving them without a substantial response.
Sussex’s fifth-place standing was reinforced by a seventh loss, as Sam Cook’s 4-7 further stifled their hopes. Worcestershire delivered a decisive 63-run win over Kent at New Road, with Adam Hose’s 47 (41 balls) anchoring their 142-7. Kent’s reply collapsed to 14.1 overs, with only two batters scoring double figures.
This result left Worcester in fourth place in the Central and West Group, just ahead of Warwickshire on net run rate. Glamorgan also secured a 12-point lead after chasing 185 against Warwickshire, with Sam Hain’s 63 (46 balls) and Beau Webster’s 47 (32 balls) proving decisive.
The chasing partnership of Will Smale (62 off 50) and Kiran Carlson (75 in powerplay) set up a comfortable finish. Asa Tribe (38 off 31) and Sean Dickson (24 off 11) consolidated the innings, sealing a seven-ball win for Glamorgan.
