The suspects, ranging in age from 22 to 54, used the Monero cryptocurrency to access dark web forums containing illicit content. Authorities in Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, the Czech Republic, Poland and Germany coordinated the arrests following an investigation led by Kripos. Police prosecutor Terje Nedrebo Michelsen emphasized the cross-border collaboration, stating that further arrests are anticipated in additional nations due to the high number of identified suspects.

As part of the operation in early June, three minors were safeguarded, and law enforcement seized over 460 pieces of evidence, including electronic devices, cryptocurrency wallets, drugs and significant quantities of performance-enhancing substances. Europol highlighted that one suspect employed artificial intelligence to produce illegal content, while others involved victims from their immediate families. Kripos also confirmed that advancements in 2025 enabled them to track cryptocurrency transactions in such cases.
