How To Play Pips
In Pips, you manage a grid composed of multi-colored boxes. Each distinct color symbolizes a specific “condition” that must be fulfilled. With a limited set of available dominoes, you must fill the grid, utilizing every tile while meeting the satisfaction of all conditions to secure a win. Difficulty levels range from Easy to Medium to Difficult.
As an illustration of a Difficult tier configuration, consider the following example:

As seen in the grid, various shapes display symbols and numbers linked to their respective colors. Significant areas feature conflicting rules; for instance, the three purples cannot share the same value (crossed-out equal sign). Adjacent pink squares require a combined total of zero. The zig-zagging blues must all match. Players interact via clicking, rotating dominoes to align with required slots.
While some grids omit explicit operators like “less than” or “greater than,” when present, tiles marked with > or < dictate that the total—or individual tiles—must exceed or fall short of the specified threshold. Individual tiles lacking constraints may hold any digit. The potential conditions encompass:
- EQUAL: All pips in this group must be identical.
- NOT EQUAL: All pips in this group must differ from one another.
- GREATER THAN: The pip in this tile (or tiles) must be larger than the listed number.
- LESS THAN: The pip in this tile must be smaller than the listed number.
- EXACT: The pip must match this precise numerical value.
- NONE: Tiles without recorded conditions may contain any digits.
To claim victory, you must expend every domino, ensuring a perfect fit for every stipulated rule. Depending on the complexity, a single solution may prevail, whereas other scenarios allow for multiple correct paths.
