Bitcoin fell to roughly $63,900 on Monday, slipping 1.3% for the day but remaining 2% higher week‑over‑week, as the cryptocurrency market was squeezed between rising oil prices driven by geopolitical tensions and a Chinese AI‑related shock that weighed on chip stocks on Friday.
Market indicators showed widespread losses, with Ether declining 1.1% to $1,850, BNB dropping 0.8% to $564, XRP slipping to $1.09 and Dogecoin down 1.4%. Among major tokens, Hyperliquid’s HYPE lagged the most, falling 8% over the week to $60.
Brent crude rose to a one‑month high above $91 per barrel after widening U.S.–Iran strikes rekindled inflation concerns that had been softened by earlier soft U.S. price data. At the same time, Asian semiconductor shares remained under pressure from Friday’s selloff, with South Korea’s Kospi index down 3.5%, although U.S. futures indicated a potential rebound.
