Being a pop star comes with many perks – traveling, earnings, and fans singing along to every word. However, there’s a less glamorous aspect of stardom that Olivia Rodrigo has encountered: the challenges of close-quarters concert environments.

The 23-year-old singer recently shared on Kiss FM that some fans wear diapers to concerts to maintain their front-row positions. “I’ve been to certain concerts and festivals where people wear diapers so they can be front row for the show,” she explained.

While acknowledging the unusual situation, Rodrigo noted that as a performer, she’s become accustomed to unique experiences. “That’s been an experience as a performer that I have… smelled,” she said matter-of-factly.

The air quality at concerts typically includes predictable elements – cigarette smoke, vape clouds, and general body odor. However, the presence of biological waste in close quarters presents a distinct challenge for performers.

Rodrigo is currently preparing for ‘The Unraveled Tour,’ featuring 86 sold-out shows across North America and Europe. The tour kicks off September 25 in Hartford and concludes May 10, 2027 at London’s O2.
