Olivia Rodrigo has released her first-ever Christmas single, “Take Me Home (4 Christmas),” accompanied by a festive music video co-starring Sex and the City alum Cynthia Nixon and Saturday Night Live comedian Ben Marshall.

The track is available now on exclusive seven-inch vinyl and cassette, alongside a dedicated holiday merchandise collection—including limited-edition gifts, collectibles, and decorations—via Rodrigo’s official webstore.

Built on a groovy rhythm and sleigh bells, the infectious tune evokes the spirit of The Waitresses’ 1981 new-wave classic “Christmas Wrapping.” In the upbeat chorus, Rodrigo sings: “I want you to take me home / And not so we can make out / I want you to take me home / Take me home to your parents’ house / I want you to take me home / Show me serious commitment / I want you to take me home / Yeah come on, take me home for Christmas.” The lyrics playfully reference peeking under the tree, a hungover brunch, and a desire to “get drunk” with her partner’s parents.

The warm, narrative-driven visual opens in the aftermath of a raucous holiday party. Marshall, playing Rodrigo’s love interest, brings her home to meet his mother, portrayed by Nixon. The family shares games, dinner, and drinks, but the clip ends on a humorous note: Marshall is still asleep on the couch while a disappointed Rodrigo takes out the trash.

The release follows Rodrigo’s recent “Expectations” remix with Chappell Roan and her critically acclaimed third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad For A Girl So In Love. She is currently traversing North America on the “Unraveled” world tour with support from Wolf Alice, before heading to the UK next spring for a major residency at The O2 in London.

NME awarded the album four-and-a-half stars, noting: “Here is a major popstar who is not afraid to get weirder and more wonderful, to give even more of themselves over in their art.”
