Oppo has unveiled a new accessory designed to simplify taking selfies with a phone’s rear camera, which typically offers superior image quality compared to front‑facing lenses. The Bubble provides a live preview on a circular AMOLED screen, remote shutter control, and a dedicated button, mirroring the functionality of the recently announced Insta360 Snap.
What distinguishes the Bubble is its ultra‑thin, seven‑millimetre profile, wireless range of up to roughly 33 feet, and a price of 499 yuan (about $73) in China. It houses a 550 mAh battery and charges via a USB‑C port on its base; it does not support wireless charging while attached to a phone.
Although some Oppo phones support wireless charging, none currently include magnetic rings for accessories. To mount the Bubble on an Oppo device, users must employ a magnetic case. The accessory can also attach to phones with built‑in magnets, such as certain iPhone and Pixel models, but official compatibility is limited to select Oppo models—including the Reno 14, Reno 15, Reno 16, Find X8, Find X9, Find X9 Pro and Find X9 Ultra—through a companion app. Oppo has not indicated plans to broaden support to other brands.
