Pak Suzuki Motor Company Limited has inaugurated a new biogas plant and a solar power generation facility at its manufacturing plant in Karachi, marking significant steps in its clean energy and carbon reduction initiatives.
Both facilities are now operational at the Karachi site. The biogas plant, which spans 360 square metres, has a daily production capacity of 100 cubic metres. It utilizes Napier grass, widely available in Pakistan, alongside waste generated from company cafeterias. The solar power facility, with an output capacity of 920kW, is expected to generate approximately 1,395,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
Managing Director Hiroshi Kawamura emphasized that these projects reflect the company’s commitment to integrating clean energy into its operations and supporting environmentally friendly manufacturing practices. Pak Suzuki affirmed its intent to continue pursuing environmental initiatives tailored to local conditions in Pakistan, aligning with its broader sustainability goals.
