Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said Monday that police had arrested the three sisters of former prime minister Imran Khan ahead of a protest march scheduled for September 27.
PTI spokesman Zulfi Bukhari said on social media that Punjab police had raided the home of Aleema Khan and detained Khan’s two other sisters, along with nephews and children from the family.
PTI information secretary Sheikh Waqas Akram told Agence France-Presse that Khan’s sisters and children were initially taken into custody, but the children were later released.
Akram added that all three sisters had been transferred to Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore.
