Pakistan Receives Bids for 185,000 Tons of Wheat; Bunge Offers Lowest at $339.36/Ton

HAMBURG — Pakistan’s state-run Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) received offers in a tender to purchase 185,000 metric tons of wheat that closed on Monday, with the lowest bid submitted at $339.36 per metric ton, cost and freight (C&F) included, according to European traders.

Traders said the lowest offer, covering approximately 60,000 tons, was believed to have been submitted by trading house Bunge. The TCP is still evaluating the bids and no purchase has been finalized, with a decision expected in the coming days.

Initial assessments reflect trader estimates, and further revisions to prices and volumes remain possible.

The tender arrives during a challenging period for importers, as conflict has brought seaborne Black Sea exports of competitively priced Russian and Ukrainian wheat to a near halt, forcing buyers toward more expensive alternative origins.

Earlier this month, the TCP secured 365,000 tons at $348.83 per ton C&F in a previous tender seeking up to 750,000 tons, before launching the current tender for an additional 185,000 tons.
