The KSE-100 index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange fell 47.93 points on Thursday, a decline of 0.03%, closing at 177,322.78 points versus 177,370.71 points the prior session.
Trading volume reached 614.057 million shares, down from 644.841 million in the previous session, and turnover rose to Rs34.547 billion from Rs31.365 billion. Market capitalisation slipped to Rs19.860 trillion, down from Rs19.892 trillion a day earlier.
Of the 496 companies trading in the ready market, 191 advanced, 279 declined, and 26 remained flat, underscoring a broadly bearish sentiment.
F. Nat. Equities topped the volume leaderboard with 86.073 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK (49.231 million) and Tasdeeq Information (29.683 million).
Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited rose Rs746.58 to finish at Rs25,960.58, and Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering gained Rs43.19, closing at Rs1,559.44.
PIA Holding Company Limited fell Rs100.00 to close at Rs17,200.00, while Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited dropped Rs71.79 to Rs9,247.00.
The futures (DFC) market recorded turnover of 500.393 million shares, valued at Rs27.033 billion, compared with 472.400 million shares and Rs27.235 billion in the prior session.
Out of 313 companies traded in the DFC market, 121 rose, 189 fell, and three stayed flat.
