Trading volume reaches 112.76 million shares, while the value of shares traded stands at Rs6.84 billion
KARACHI:
The Pakistan Stock Exchange continued its upward trajectory on Thursday, as the KSE‑100 benchmark rose by over 1,400 points during the morning session.
By midday, the index reached 166,830.69, gaining 1,413.19 points (0.85%) from Wednesday’s close of 165,417.50, and trading remained active.
The index fluctuated between an intra‑day high of 166,868.14 and a low of 165,613.11, with trading volume amounting to 112.76 million shares and a total turnover of Rs6.84 billion.
This rebound follows Wednesday’s recovery, when the index rose 641 points to retake the 165,000 level after a period of volatility. Morning buying pressure in select heavyweight sectors persisted into the afternoon, sustaining the benchmark above 166,800.
Market participants monitored the session as trading stayed active; the index’s range over the day spanned approximately 1,255 points, and robust volume underpinned the rally.
Midday levels positioned the KSE‑100 solidly higher for the session, although the day’s ultimate trajectory will hinge on later trading activity. Wednesday’s close of 165,417.50 came after a session in which the index rebounded from a low near 164,060, driven by selective buying.
