ISLAMABAD, Jul 13 (APP): The KSE-100 Index on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed lower Monday, shedding 2,314.73 points (-1.27%) to finish at 179,927.05 from 182,241.78 the previous day.

Trading volume in the ready market reached 845.279 million shares (Rs35.551 billion), down from 948.776 million shares (Rs38.413 billion) in the prior session. Market capitalization fell to Rs20.290 trillion from Rs20.503 trillion.

Among 497 active listed companies, 128 rose, 335 fell, and 34 stayed flat.

Cnergyico PK topped trading activity with 158.523 million shares, followed by F. Nat. Equities (64.234 million) and Blue-Ex Limited (43.874 million).

Kitwar Sugar Mills gained Rs201.34 to close at Rs2,282.89, while PIA Holding Company B rose Rs123.68 to Rs17,801.01.

Conversely, Unilever Pakistan Foods dropped Rs445.00 to Rs25,268.00, and Sapphire Textile Mills fell Rs64.04 to Rs1,436.85.

The futures market (DFC) saw turnover of 189.239 million shares (Rs8.530 billion), up from 186.207 million shares (Rs8.065 billion) previously.

Of 302 futures-listed firms, 41 advanced, 258 declined, with three unchanged.
