June 18, 2026 (MLN): The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) closed higher on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE‑100 Index ending at 181,398.21, up 887.19 points (0.49%). The index stayed in positive territory throughout the session, reaching an intraday high of 181,869.33 and a low of 181,045.34.

Total volume traded across KSE‑100 equities was 445.72 million shares.

Investor sentiment was buoyed by a newly signed peace agreement between U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian aimed at ending the Middle‑East conflict. The accord heightened expectations of improved regional stability, reduced geopolitical risks and greater certainty for global financial markets.

Across the 100 constituents, 51 companies rose while 49 slipped.

Top gainers included SSOM (+10.00%), SRVI (+8.77%), POWER (+6.94%), PAKT (+5.35%) and GADT (+5.00%). The worst performers were HGFA (‑4.23%), PSX (‑3.53%), SHFA (‑2.86%), SSGC (‑2.48%) and FHAM (‑1.82%).

In terms of index‑point contribution, HUBC added 241.51 points to the benchmark, followed by SRVI (152.62 points), FFC (109.86 points), ENGROH (93.98 points) and PPL (81.46 points).

Conversely, BAHL detracted 76.07 points, while MARI (‑41.47 points), PSO (‑33.98 points), MTL (‑31.64 points) and PSX (‑30.60 points) also dragged on the index.

Sector performance showed strength in Power Generation & Distribution (+257.11 points), Fertilizer (+182.82 points), Leather & Tanneries (+152.62 points), Cement (+116.26 points) and Oil & Gas Exploration Companies (+115.04 points). Sectors that constrained gains were Oil & Gas Marketing Companies (‑50.22 points), Automobile Assemblers (‑47.86 points), Technology & Communication (‑21.24 points), Miscellaneous (‑14.56 points) and Refinery (‑7.88 points).

In the broader market, the All‑Share Index settled at 109,207.08, gaining 651.21 points (0.60%).

Total market volume reached 1.24 billion shares, up from 1.23 billion in the previous session, with a traded value of Rs58.01 billion. A total of 543,750 trades were executed across 495 companies; 264 rose, 201 fell and 30 remained unchanged.
