Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir arrived in Türkiye on Monday for a two-day official visit, according to state media reports.
Upon arrival, CDF Munir received a “warm welcome” as reported by state-run Radio Pakistan, citing security sources.
The visit includes plans for high-level meetings with Türkiye’s military and political leadership to discuss matters of mutual interest, the sources added.
State television and the Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) also confirmed the CDF’s arrival and outlined his scheduled engagements with Turkish officials.
In the previous month, General Metin Tokel, commander of the Turkish Land Forces, visited Pakistan and met with CDF Munir. The discussions focused on regional security challenges and opportunities for strengthening bilateral defense ties, as reported by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
General Tokel also held meetings with senior naval and air force officials during his visit.
Ealier this month, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif traveled to Türkiye, emphasizing economic and trade cooperation during his trip.
