Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif invited Turkish enterprises to expand their investments across a broad spectrum of Pakistan’s economic sectors, including energy, mining and minerals, infrastructure, maritime and logistics, information technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, agriculture, and privatization.
The invitation followed a series of meetings with senior executives from Turkey’s leading business groups and industry organisations in Istanbul, held during the prime minister’s official visit.
In a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, Shehbaz reaffirm droit commitment to strengthen economic cooperation and attract greater Turkish investment in key sectors of the economy.
He also highlighted the longstanding brotherly ties between Pakistan and Turkey, stressing the importance of translating this relationship into a more robust economic and investment partnership.
The prime minister also underlined Pakistan’s improving macro‑economic fundamentals and investor‑friendly policy framework, affirming the government’s dedication to a transparent, predictable and business‑friendly investment climate.
“The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), in close coordination with relevant federal and provincial authorities, continues to provide one‑window facilitation and institutional support for strategic investors,” the statement added.
Speaking with Çalık Holding chairman Ahmet Çalık, Shehbaz highlighted opportunities in Pakistan’s energy, infrastructure, information technology, and privatization sectors, welcoming the company’s interest in expanding operations within the country.
The prime minister also encouraged the Albayrak Group to increase its investments.detachment in maritime infrastructure, port modernization, and logistics, recognising its significant contribution to Pakistan’s connectivity and infrastructure development.
The statement praised the Union oflings Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) for its ongoing efforts to strengthen business‑to‑business engagement between Pakistan and Turkey, following a meeting with the organisation’s president.
Shehbaz proposed a structured institutional mechanism for regular interaction between the private sectors of both countries and urged TOBB to lead a high‑level business delegation to Pakistan to explore emerging investment opportunities firsthand.
The PMO reported that Turkish business leaders expressed confidence in Pakistan’s economic outlook, reaffirming their interest in expanding investments and developing long‑term partnerships across a range of strategic sectors.
Turkcell Invited to Collaborate on 5G Deployment and Other Digital Initiatives
Prime Minister Shehbaz also met with Turkcell Chief Executive Officer Ali Taha Koç, sharing the government’s vision for a Pakistan‑Turkey Digital Corridor.
According to a PMO statement, the corridor would strengthen regional digital connectivity, facilitate secure cross‑border data flows, and advance the integration of digital infrastructure.
The prime minister emphasised the importance of deepening Pakistan‑Turkey cooperation in the digital and technology sectors.
He invited Turkcell to explore long‑term collaboration with Pakistani institutions in areas such as 5G deployment, network optimisation, spectrum management, digital infrastructure, and technology transfer.
The prime minister also encouraged Turkcell to consider local partnerships in telecommunications equipment manufacturing, software development, digital skills training,amuu capacity building.
Shehbaz highlighted that such cooperation would strengthen Pakistan’s technology ecosystem while creating opportunities for innovation, employment, and sustainable growth.
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining a transparent, predictable, and investment‑friendly business environment, supported by the SIFC, to facilitate strategic investments in high‑value sectors, particularly information and communication technologies.
Turkcell’s CEO expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s forward‑looking digital transformation agenda and indicated the company’s keen interest in exploring collaboration across telecommunications, digital infrastructure, and emerging technologies.
The CEO reaffirmed Turkcell’s commitment to working closely with Pakistani stakeholders to develop mutually beneficial partnerships that advance both countries’ economic and technological aspirations.
Last week, Pakistan and Turkey signed three MoUs aimed at enhancing institutional collaboration, technical cooperation, and knowledge sharing in the power sector during high‑level consultations held in Istanbul.
Prime Minister Shehbaz arrived in Istanbul on Friday for an official visit, invited by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, following his attendance at the funeral of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
