Paramount has appointed a new co-CEO ahead of its $110 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery. Ynon Kreiz, former chairman and CEO of Mattel, will join the company to co-lead alongside chairman and CEO David Ellison.
Per Paramount, Ellison will focus on long-term strategy, creative vision, talent relationships, strategic partnerships, technology, and capital allocation, while Kreiz will oversee day-to-day operations and the integration of the combined businesses. The merged entity will report jointly to Ellison and Kreiz.
Kreiz joined Mattel in 2018 and oversaw the launch of the hit Barbie film in partnership with Warner Bros. Pictures during his tenure. He will officially begin at Paramount on October 5th.
On Tuesday, Paramount’s streaming chief Cindy Holland announced her departure. Meanwhile, Variety reports that HBO head Casey Bloys is “poised” to assume leadership of both Paramount Plus and HBO.
