Paris Saint-Germain has firmly turned down multiple bids from Manchester City for midfielder Jennifer Echegini.

At 25, the player is considered indispensable by the French club, with sources confirming they are unwilling to sell as a year remains on her contract.

The Nigerian international, who spent the majority of her youth career in England, has been with PSG for two years following a season at Juventus.

Last year, she scored the decisive goal in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations final against Morocco, helping Nigeria secure a record-extending 10th title.

Manchester City have until Thursday’s transfer deadline to complete signings before the Women’s Super League season begins this weekend.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Vivianne Miedema, who operates in both midfield and attack, will miss the start of the season due to a knee injury.

PSG will take on Eintracht Frankfurt in a Women’s Champions League third-round qualifying tie on Wednesday evening.

BBC Sport reported this week that Arsenal have agreed terms to sign France defender Elisa de Almeida from PSG.

Sources in France suggest the fee could be approximately £550,000, and she is expected to join before Thursday’s deadline.

It is understood she will be available for selection in PSG’s game against Frankfurt before travelling to London to complete her move.
