The Pentagon announced that the firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan will be livestreamed, following Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s statement that the execution will be public.

Speaking to Real America’s Voice News on Wednesday, Hegseth said Hasan’s execution by firing squad is scheduled for December 3 at Fort Hood. Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, was found guilty of killing 13 people and wounding 32 in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting.

“We will ensure the public can watch the execution, because it is important that people recognize the serious consequences of such actions,” Hegseth added.

Hegseth made these remarks while aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, during a visit to the long‑deployed crew that had supported operations in Iran, prior to their return to their home port in San Diego.
