Peter Fury Gives Definitive Outlook on Fury‑Joshua Showdown: Two Possible Outcomes

< p>An announcement for Tyson Fury’s long‑awaited showdown with Anthony Joshua is expected soon, and Peter Fury, the uncle and former trainer of ‘The Gypsy King’, has given his final assessment of the much‑discussed bout. 

Initial expectations for an official confirmation arose after both fighters secured victories in their warm‑up bouts against Mariusz Wach and Kristian Prenga in July, yet negotiations quickly hit a standstill.

The event organizers had targeted New York City as the venue for the all‑British showdown, even though Joshua had already signed a contract for a bout in the United Kingdom.

Following extended negotiations, recent rumors indicate that the Fury‑Joshua bout is back on the agenda and is expected to take place at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium in December.

However, it is still uncertain whether the main event will be allowed to start in the early morning hours to accommodate Netflix’s US viewership. 

“I haven’t really thought about it [Fury-Joshua] to be honest. He [Fury] is either going to outbox [him] and he will get to Joshua or Joshua is gonna find the target and he will clean him out. So, it is one or the other, isn’t it? So, we will see which one.

“I think it all comes down to what game plans they are going to do.”

Fans are anxiously awaiting developments, and a deal appears to be close to finalising one of the most significant events on the 2026 boxing calendar.
