Exactly one month before the release of her third studio album, Lost Weekend, singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a surprise performance of her latest single, “Lost Boys.”

Accompanied by a band of young musicians, Bridgers delivered the track’s vivid narrative lyrics: “On a motorbike, doing 90 in a 55 / To another life / Where they make you cut your hair.”

Released late last month, “Lost Boys” was produced by Bridgers alongside Jack Antonoff, Tony Berg, and Ethan Gruska, with additional production from Alex G. Backing vocals were provided by her boygenius bandmates, Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. The accompanying music video, set at a Renaissance faire, features actor Skyler Gisondo as a gas station cashier.

Lost Weekend arrives August 14 via Dead Oceans, following Bridgers’ critically acclaimed 2020 breakout, Punisher. She will embark on the Lost Tour in support of the record, kicking off September 15 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Consistent with her recent surprise acoustic sets and a sold-out show at New York’s Madison Square Garden in June, the tour will enforce a strict no-phone policy.

The tour’s promotional artwork was photographed by fine-art photographer Gregory Crewdson, who spoke exclusively to Rolling Stone about the collaboration. “There was an alliance there, with a sense of mystery and loneliness, and wanting to make connections about landscape and all that,” Crewdson said. “It’s a coming together between Phoebe’s world and my world.”
