Arc System Works has announced the first DLC character for Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls as part of the Year 1 character pass. Although the game currently features team-based combat, these DLC characters will not follow that structure, as no official team composition has been revealed. As the initial DLC is a variation of a beloved character, future additions may include alternate multiverse iterations of popular heroes.

Phoenix Cyclops is scheduled to launch in Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls during Fall 2026. While an exact date has not been confirmed, the game plans to release four characters in Year 1, suggesting an expected arrival around late October or early November, roughly three months post-launch.

Phoenix Cyclops originates from the Phoenix Five era of the X-Men, as depicted in Avengers vs. X-Men. In addition to his standard abilities, this version wields the Phoenix Force, which amplifies his powers and introduces fiery visual effects to his moveset.

Although it remains unclear whether DLC characters will form a team, Cyclops is historically accompanied by Emma Frost, Namor, Colossus, and Magik within the Phoenix Five. While Magik is already present in the game, the remaining members are absent from Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls, suggesting a potentially diverse and intriguing team composition in the future.
