The U.S. brand-name drug industry’s trade group is suing the Trump administration over a Medicare pilot that links drug prices to those in other countries, STAT reports. PhRMA’s lawsuit argues that the “most‑favored nation” test in Medicare Part B oversteps the agency’s statutory authority. The initiative, dubbed GLOBE, would have limited effect because the administration has exempted nearly all participants in exchange for voluntary agreements to adopt Medicaid‑style most‑favored nation pricing. Still, the trade group warns that even a voluntary framework could establish an undesirable precedent, and it maintains that only voluntary arrangements—not the mandatory GLOBE program—are acceptable.

The Trump administration is drafting a plan to permit the temporary sale of certain previously restricted peptides while federal health officials develop new regulations for these controversial products, The Washington Post reports. Under the proposal, some compounding pharmacies could distribute peptides promoted as novel medical therapies and wellness aids, despite incomplete safety testing of their claimed benefits. The plan remains unannounced, and its timing is uncertain, leaving room for further changes.
