On Saturday, Police Constables Tom Clough, 38, and Matthew Blades, 37, were killed after a Volkswagen Passat, which had been pursued moments earlier, collided with their marked armed-response vehicle on the A66 near Middlesbrough.
All five occupants of the Passat — Michael Robert Cahill, 23, Jacob Matusiak, 23, Theo Rae, 17, and Cole Robert Worthy, 17 — also perished.
A clip posted on the TikTok account thought to belong to Saddington in March 2025 captured him and four other youths allegedly engaged in a police pursuit. The video has since been removed.
BBC Verify examined the 94‑second clip, which depicted the vehicle traveling on footpaths and parkland in Ormesby, Middlesbrough, with Saddington seated in the rear.
Another video, also removed, posted by the same account appears to show a reckless joyride in which a passenger is smoking, with the speedometer indicating 100 mph.
Later in the footage, a separate vehicle is set ablaze; the passengers in that segment cannot be identified.
Cleveland Police and Crime Commissioner Matt Storey stated: “Without being able to confirm whether this pertains to the case, it is utterly idiotic for anyone to engage in anything other than full concentration on the road while driving.”
He told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme that filming oneself or others while driving dangerously is “absolutely ridiculous, and of course nobody should be doing that.”
He added that it is a concerning trend if such behavior becomes more common, as it is extremely dangerous.
