Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will commence a two-day regional visit beginning July 3, traveling to Iran first to attend the funeral of late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed in alleged US-Israeli strikes on February 28, according to Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi.
During a weekly press briefing, Andrabi confirmed that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with several cabinet members and senior officials, will accompany the premier on the diplomatic mission.
“The prime minister will convey heartfelt condolences on behalf of the people and government of Pakistan to the Iranian leadership and grieving families, while reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the brotherly nation during this profound period of mourning,” the FO spokesperson stated.
