Pope Leo Resumes Duties After Successful Lung Surgery
Pope Leo announced on Sunday that a gradual resumption of duties is planned following successful surgery for lung cancer.
The 71-year-old pontiff underwent surgery on Tuesday to remove the lower lobe of his right lung, a procedure that raised questions regarding his remaining tenure.
Standing on a window ledge near the Apostolic Palace, He extended heartfelt thanks to worshippers worldwide for their prayers before outlining his cautious schedule adjustment.
“Having overcome this delicate phase, I will now steadily restore my functions with the aid of my brothers, sisters, and those who pray for me,” His Grace concluded.
